A Cord of Three Strands

I am a strand of steel, but on my own, I am easy to break. Add another strand of steel, and our strength increases exponentially. Add yet another, and our strength compares to nothing else. Where there is a weakness in one strand of steel, the other strands make up for the lost strength. All the strands work together to reinforce each other.
This is the fellowship of believers.

Why go to a fellow Christian for an answer to a tough question rather than having the instant gratification of looking the answer up on a theology website?
Because asking a real human being fosters a relationship– an added steel strand to your cord. When one believer asks another believer a small question, it can lead to a great conversation, and from that conversation: great insight, the gift of fellowship, and added reinforcement to that steel cord.

Consider Ecclesiastes 4:9-12:

"Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor:
If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help him up.
Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?
Though one may be overpowered,
two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."
